About

Progressiprocity is a blog dedicated to exploring issues at the intersection between risk, individual choice, business, technology, and science.

Jeremy Gernand has spent the last 15 years addressing critical problems in engineering systems, education, and management. With degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Engineering and Public Policy, he has accumulated experience in risk assessment, root cause analysis, hazard mitigation, event probability analysis, machine learning algorithms, and other techniques. His experience working in both high technology companies and impoverished developing countries has demonstrated the commonality of problems we face and the universality of methods that can address them.

Jeremy Gernand is currently an assistant professor of environmental health and safety engineering at Penn State University. You can read more about his research here.
